To mitigate the transmission of Covid-19, the world of education has changed massively, the use of remote teaching and digital educational solutions have become widespread all around the world. With this, video conferencing tools and virtual classrooms became an essential part of student-teacher interactions. We have worked a lot to make the teacher’s and students' lives easier in these trying times.
We are super excited to announce that we are introducing the integration of video conference tools to the group management feature on mozaWeb.
For the classes and study groups created on mozaWeb, now kickstarting a video lesson from the platform is just one click away. By selecting your preferred external solution (Google Meet and Zoom) or the internally integrated Mozaik-Jitsi video conferencing tool (needs a local server to be installed), mozaWeb immediately launches the room for your group.
We have created a video showcasing the practical use of the video conferencing features on mozaWeb, showing both the teacher-side and the student-side view for you.
The feature has been created for your convenience, you just need to select which video conferencing solution you wish to start the video lesson with (please also refer to the screenshot below).
You can watch the video we have created for your convenience below:
We are proud to present you the new features introduced in mozaBook's newest stable version (4.5.7.101) release. Apart from general stability and performance improvements, here is a list of the most important updates:
- We have introduced a new intelligent view for the publication menu. Users are now able to access instantly the most recently opened publications and exercise books. Furthermore, publications can be categorized by subject, grade, publication type, publisher, series, and age group. Users can filter for primary aspects straight from the book self and then further categorise in the view menu for secondary attributes to form folders. They can quickly and intuitively find the desired content by selecting primary and secondary attributes (for example they can group first for subject and then further organize for publisher) with the mini-icons next to the book-shelf at the same time. With this method, as shown in the picture below, users can easily group books and atlases belonging to the subject of history.
- We have updated the design of the media library and generally improved the UI to be more user-friendly. The functioning of the scrollbar and the quick search has been refined as well.
- In the media library we have redesigned the quick launch feature (rocket icon), and added a new most recent view (bull’s-eye icon) that helps to keep track of daily search and usage history.
- In the share menu, sharing effortlessly and immediately with a group or class is now available for exercise books.
- A 32-bit and 64-bit installer is now available separately for mozaBook
- Stability improvements have been made to the Classwork function.
The following changes have been made regarding the localization of mozaBook:
- New languages available for mozaBook: Thai and Serbian (latin alphabet).
- Persian numbers have been introduced for the Farsi language.
- The software can now handle the Thai calendar.
- New download servers location: Croatia, Iran and Thailand.
The following tools and games have been converted to HTML5:
- Letter cards, Kaleidoscope, Code Breaker and Scale
We are working hard to have all of our tools and games available in HTML5 by the end of the year.
We hope you enjoy these new updates and features that have been working on to enrich your experience with mozaBook. If you have any feedback regarding our digital educational solutions, we always welcome and appreciate your feedback!
On behalf of the whole mozaBook team, we wish all of you a successful and engaging school semester!
Besides our printed textbooks and digital solutions, we are really proud of our super detailed and fun atlas collection for the subject of Geography. For interactive boards, we have had these maps for a long time in a separate framework program, called mozaMap and you may have already heard about the compact miniMap tool as well. However, it was high time to integrate these maps into our educational presentation software mozaBook to make everything more manageable and smoother in the classroom.First, simply select the map from your shelf, open it up, and check all the possibilities and map variations you can choose from… five continents, demographic views, populations, the environmental state of the Earth, so literally everything you may need in a Geography lesson is at your fingertips. Let’s select North America and see what we can do with the map:
- zoom in and out without losing any image resolution quality,
- write some comment or place appropriate icons and symbols on the map,
- measure the distance between cities or the size of certain areas and countries,
- or highlight some really significant details with various colors.
Teachers can easily create blank-map exercises by selecting the cities, setting the necessary guidelines and time for the test.
One of the major perks of transferring these atlases directly to mozaBook is that teachers can use these maps alongside their presentations or textbooks with the help of the split view option. There is no need to leave the interface or open any other program, just place your exercise book and the map next to each other and the lesson can begin. If you are interested in checking out mozaBook powered up with the comprehensive map collection, do not hesitate to download the free version of the software with a 1-month trial period. If you want to learn more about these maps, please visit the relevant page on our website by clicking here.
